The art of rest

I am nearing the end of my second full day of proper rest due to a low platelet count. It’s really hard because I can’t allow myself to do even one simple task. After all, that will lead me to another and another and another. Giving me a task is sort of like giving a mouse a cookie.

But whilst yesterday was a complete sit around kind of day, causing me complete boredom, at least today I managed to mix it up a bit by soaking in the tub and creating a new online photo gallery for my drawings. (Yay!)

And I drew a new picture for the gallery, too. (Double Yay!!)

I know it’s not the best picture of a tree (could you tell it was a tree?) but it has actually inspired me to draw a detailed tree that will incorporate a poem I’m composing in my head.

One more day of total rest then I’m going to the office. I know work isn’t really rest, but it’s an office job so I’m going to cheat. It’s that or go completely bonkers. And being half bonkers is bad enough. I’m not quite ready for full-on insanity!

  1. No, stay away from work. It’s not just an office job – there’s the commute and the stress and the co-workers. Stay at home and rest properly missus!

    1. I know I should stay away, but I have to drive my foster daughter in to school anyhow I staying means I don’t have to then drive back in the afternoon to pick her up.
Plus, I just have too much to do not to go in. But my doctor has said I can go into the office I just can’t over do it. Whatever that means…
(I can’t wait until I have my counts done again on Thursday and they’d best be better because I can’t rest much longer!!)
